The Ashdale cutoff extended from Ashdale Jct. to Ebner. Ashdale Jct. was between Lanark and Mount Carroll on the main line east of Savanna. The cutoff bypassed Savanna. And on this original line south and west of Savanna, the segment between Ayres and Ebner was replaced with trackage rights over the paralleling Burlington Route. Trains between Savanna and Kansas City continued until 1958, crossing the Mississippi River at Savanna.
