Former crossing with Manistee & Northeastern Railroad. In 1955 that railroad was acquired by Chesapeake & Ohio, and its former line south to Manistee became the new Chesapeake & Ohio route north of Baldwin. The direct route between Baldwin and Kaleva was then abandoned.
