AMERICA'S STREAMLINERS

RICHMOND FREDERICKSBURG & POTOMAC

(POST WW II)

The Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac most significantly hosted trains between New York and Florida, operated by Atlantic Coast Line and Seaboard Air Line.

For a brief period in 1947 and 1948, Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac operated its own streamliner on two daily round trips between Richmond and Washington. A timetable has not yet been found for those trains. Below is a schedule summary from an Official Guide before then, showing the trains at the time not operating through to and from points south of Richmond. In addition, a rush hour commuter round trip operated between Washington and Fredericksburg.

An Official Guide entry dated September 26, 1948, shows a similar schedule. Except the rush hour commuter train between Washington and Fredericksburg and been discontinued, and trains 10 and 29 had their schedules adjusted to coincide with the Washington rush hour.

Only streamlined trains and the most important stations are shown.
