Was a multiple track line with single direction ABS. Double track CTC was installed 1957, described below, enabling the elimination of many towers.
Junction with Marion District. Was also east end of a four track segment from Elkhart, with freight tracks to the outside. Freight tracks were removed with installation of CTC. Until earlier in 1950's, eastbound freight track extended further east to Millersburg.
