Former junction of Rock Island (now Metra) Beverly branch, with Baltimore & Ohio passenger main line. Baltimore & Ohio passenger trains had trackage rights via Rock Island east to South Chicago. Those passenger trains were discontinued May 1, 1971, with the creation of Amtrak.
