AMERICA'S STREAMLINERS

GULF MOBILE & OHIO

(POST WW II)

The passenger fleet of the combined Gulf Mobile & Ohio was enhanced somewhat after the war. But many of the basic services remained largely the same. The new sleepers operated through between Chicago and Mobile, while the heavyweight sleepers on the Gulf Coast Rebel operated between St. Louis and Montgomery. Between Chicago and St. Louis, much of the equipment remained unchanged until the 1971 formation of Amtrak.

Only streamlined trains and the most important stations are shown.
