CHICAGO & EASTERN ILLINOIS

The only pre war streamliner operating over the Chicago & Eastern Illinois was the Dixie Flagler, introduced in 1940 and operating every third day between Chicago and Miami. The train was owned by the Florida East Coast, originally acquired for the Henry M. Flagler, operating daily between Jacksonville and Miami. Between Chicago and Miami, this was one of three all coach streamliners operating every third day over different routings between Chicago and Miami. Overall, one streamliner was leaving Chicago or Miami each day.
