AMERICA'S STREAMLINERS

ALTON RAILROAD

(PRE WW II)

The Alton Railroad was previously a subsidiary of the Baltimore & Ohio, which acquired two similar trains in 1935. One train was originally assigned to the Royal Blue between Washington and Jersey City, while the other train was assigned to the Abraham Lincoln between Chicago and St. Louis. Eventually, both trains wound up operating between Chicago and St. Louis.

Only streamlined trains and the most important stations are shown.
