Direct service to and from Dallas was suspended from the early 1930's to the mid 1940's, with Missouri Kansas Texas providing connecting service to and from Denison.

Passenger service discontinued in 1969, last train was the Texas Eagle.

After World War II, several trains were reequipped with streamlined cars, and evolved into the Texas Eagle service.


STATIONS TODAY

In 1969, Dallas became the largest US city without intercity rail passenger service. But Amtrak returned passenger service to Union Station in 1974, which continues to operate.
