Service on Marine Dr. had been only one 151 trip a day until 3/25/62, when some route 156 rush hour service began operating on Marine Dr. Effective 6/22/80, route 146 basically became present express route, operating all day and serving Marine Dr. Local routing between Michigan Ave. and Belmont Ave. was identical to 151 Sheridan routing.
