CHICAGO'S LOST STATIONS

CHICAGO & NORTH WESTERN

Kenosha Subdivision (Wisconsin Division/Subdivision 2)

Beyond Kenosha, intercity trains operated until the formation of Amtrak in 1971, with Racine and Milwaukee the only surviving stations when passenger service was discontinued.

Milepost locations are indicated, distance from Chicago.

Exact locations are not available for all stations.

Racine Jct. (60.5) - station was located northeast of the crossing with the Milwaukee Road, which also used the station.

Racine (61.8) - station was located south of State St., on the east side of the tracks. The building still stands, used as the local bus terminal.

Milwaukee - station was located where Wisconsin Avenue ends, near the lakefront. The Betty Brinn Children's Museum now occupies that location, with an address of 929 E. Wisconsin Ave. Many streets have been reconfigured in that area.
