CHICAGO'S LOST STATIONS

CHICAGO & NORTH WESTERN

Farm Subdivision (Illinois)

This line extended from Kenosha to Rockford, and service was discontinued in 1939. The line had passed south of Caledonia, where it crossed another Chicago & North Western line which had extended north from Belvidere to Beloit and Janesville. After 1939, the only surviving segment was from Harvard to south of Caledonia. Meanwhile, the segment between Belvidere and Caledonia had also been abandoned. And the remnants of these two lines were used to form an alternate line between Harvard and Janesville, via Beloit. Intercity passenger service between Harvard and Janesville existed via Beloit until 1965.
