Former Santa Fe main line segment between Chicago and Coal City, as of early 1950's prior to installation of CTC between Chicago and Joliet. Between Joliet and Coal City, line was shared with Chicago & Alton as part of its alternate route segment between Chicago and St. Louis. Santa Fe had owned the westward track, and Chicago & Alton had owned the eastward track.
