After a period when local routes were numbered mainly in the 30's, routes were renumbered in 2017. Including restoration of some previous route numbers.
Conversion of all trolleybus routes to motor buses was completed in 1959.
The Boardman Transit Co. service, introduced in 1944 and acquired by Youngstown Transit Co. in 1959, became an extension of the Market bus route.
At one time in the early 1980's, Youngstown became the largest city in the United States without public transportation, when the bus system shut down. The 1983 data is from shortly after service was restored.
