The Pennsylvania Railroad's premier train, the Broadway Limited between New York and Chicago, did not stop at Canton prior to creation of Amtrak.

Passenger service initially retained by Amtrak in 1971, with the Broadway Limited.

STATIONS TODAY

Amtrak eventually built a replacement station at the same location as the Pennsylvania Railroad Station. That station was closed in 1990 when the former Pennsylvania Railroad "Fort Wayne" line was downgraded, and Amtrak trains were rerouted.
