Typically NYC lines east of Chicago in northern Indiana and Michigan.
NYC divisions typically had a main line and some branch lines. Many branch lines did not have real names until after the 1968 Penn Central merger. As divisions were consolidated resulting in multiple main lines, different naming systems were adopted.
Many segments have been abandoned, or sold to short line operators.
