CHICAGO AND JOLIET ELECTRIC RAILWAY CO.
Route began at Cicero Ave./Archer Ave. on Chicago's southwest side, connecting with the Archer Ave. streetcar route from downtown Chicago. Most of route followed Archer Ave. between Cicero Ave. and Joliet, either using street operation or paralleling Archer Ave. Through Lemont and southwest of there, some of route paralleled the Alton Railroad (later Gulf Mobile & Ohio, now Canadian National). In addition, a branch operated north to Lyons, connecting with the Chicago and West Towns Railway Co.
Replacement bus service eventually evolved to Pace route 831. In 2000, most 831 trips were changed to instead serve Orland Square Mall, and the route was eliminated altogether in 2008.
