LANSING TRANSIT INFORMATION

Official Web site of the Capital Area Transportation Authority.

In 1971, the Capital Area Transportation Authority became responsible for all transit lines in the Lansing area. The last streetcars ran in 1933.


LANSING TRANSIT HISTORY

In 1886, the Lansing City Railway Co. introduced horse car service in Lansing. Various companies operated the streetcars and buses throughout history.

LANSING TRANSIT FACILITIES

The various carhouses in the Lansing area were eventually replaced with a single modern bus garage.
